Located along the Minnesota River in downtown Shakopee, Huber Park is a premier Shakopee park for hosting events, accessing local trails, or just enjoying a beautiful day. The park is located along the Minnesota Valley State Trail with access from Chaska to Bloomington.
Huber Park was known as Recreation Park until 1962, when it was named after Edward J. Huber, president of the First National Bank in Shakopee. He spearheaded the project of erecting the Scout cabin in the park (later torn down after several floods), and he was very involved with tree planting and adding other facilities to the park.
Community Playground
The Huber Park community playground, opened in 2023, has play components for all ages and abilities, and the poured-in-place surfacing is bum, bruise and wheelchair friendly.
