Help us care for our butterfly garden

We’re asking residents to lend a hand in maintaining our shared green spaces, especially our beautiful butterfly garden. A little teamwork goes a long way in keeping it healthy, vibrant, and beneficial for both people and wildlife.

Monarch butterfly in garden

Butterfly gardens offer significant environmental and personal benefits by fostering biodiversity, providing essential habitats for endangered species, and supporting pollination for healthier ecosystems. These gardens enhance our landscape with seasonal color, improve soil quality, and create peaceful spaces for relaxation, learning, and connection with nature.

What we need your help with

As you help tidy garden areas, please remove invasive and unwanted weeds, but be mindful not to pull plants that support butterflies and pollinators. Many of these “good” plants may look wild, but they are essential.

A Few Tips

  • If you’re unsure about a plant, it’s better to leave it or ask before removing it.
  • Try to pull weeds from the root to prevent regrowth.
  • Dispose of pulled weeds in pile next to the garden in the grass. Public works will pick them up.

Thank you for helping us protect and nurture a space that benefits our community. Every small effort makes a difference!
