The city has two active boards and commissions that advise and assist the City Council in setting policy:

The City Council also appoints members to the Shakopee Public Utilities Commission (SPUC), which oversees the operation of the publicly owned water and electric utilities. It is composed of five members who serve three-year terms.

Appointments

Interested Shakopee residents are invited to serve on city boards and commissions. Most appointments are made during the months of February and March. The City Council is responsible for appointing members to the city’s advisory boards and commissions.

Economic Development Advisory Committee Meeting

  • Intro Text 7 p.m. at City Hall

The Economic Development Advisory Committee typically meets at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month. The November meeting will be held in the Planning Conference Room at City Hall. It will not be televised due to a conflict with the Nov. 9 City Council Workshop. The meeting is open to the public.
