Quarry Lake Park, 6201 Innovation Blvd., Shakopee, MN 55379

The 111-acre park in the East Shakopee Industrial area contains a quarry lake used by the Shakopee-Prior Lake Water Ski Association. Fishing and non-motorized boat used is allowed at the lake.

Improvements are ongoing at Quarry Lake Park. A playground and restroom building were installed in the summer of 2023, and a kayak rental station was installed in summer 2024.

Kayak Rental Station

Quarry Lake Park is a popular place for those who love water-based activities. A home for the Shakopee-Prior Kayak Station at Quarry 2024 Lake Shockwaves Water Skiing Team, trout fishermen, canoers and kayakers, the lake and its adjacent park are a frequented amenity. The kayak rental stations now make it possible for anyone to try paddling hassle-free.

Cost

Kayak rental is $25 for a two-hour rental, and an additional $15 per hour thereafter.

How it works

1. Download the Rent.Fun digital app for Android or Apple and create an account

2. Scan the QR code at the rental station to unlock your kayak. Paddles and lifejackets are included.

3. Enjoy your paddle! Please wear your lifejacket at all times.

4. Return your equipment to the station. Select "unlock" in the app to return your items.

There is also a sign with instructions on the kayak station itself, and a QR code to scan and download the app at the park.

Fishing at Quarry Lake

Fishing is allowed from the dock in the northwest corner of the lake or from shore. Non-motorized watercraft use is also allowed as marked by buoys.

An angling license and trout/salmon stamp is required for all fishing.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources annually stocks the lake with rainbow trout.

Additional Notes

As a designated trout lake, fishing is allowed only during open trout-fishing seasons in lakes. Check Minnesota DNR fishing regulations for current seasons.
Anglers need a special trout stamp with their fishing license to fish designated trout streams and trout lakes. The stamp can be purchased at a DNR license center, online or by phone.
No motorized vehicles are allowed on the lake or trails. Anglers must enter the lake on foot from the designated trail in the park's northwest parking lot.
Parking is allowed only in the parking lot or on Innovation Boulevard.
Because the lake is spring-fed, the ice may not be consistent. Therefore, anglers should check for ice safety as they proceed onto the lake.
