Why risk a DUI when you can catch a Sober Ride Home?

If you have been consuming alcohol or cannabis on an eligible holiday or event date, catch a free ride from TNT Taxi or get reimbursed up to $15 for your rideshare cost with Uber or Lyft.

Riders who take a TNT Taxi do not need to submit a reimbursement request. If you take a Lyft or Uber, submit your rideshare receipt within 10 days, and the City of Shakopee will reimburse you for it.

This program is being offered in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety's Safe Ride Grant Program from July 2024-June 2025. 

Reimbursement Eligibility Guidelines

• Rides must originate from a bar, restaurant, or entertainment venue within Shakopee that serves alcohol. See the full list of approved pick-up locations in the dropdown menus below. 
• The ride destination must be a residential address or a hotel*
• You must be of legal drinking age (21+) to qualify for reimbursement.
• Reimbursements have a maximum value of $15.
• The maximum value includes a tip of up to 20%. Anything above a 20% tip on the base fare will not be reimbursed.
• Reimbursement requests must be received within 10 days following the date on the ride receipt.
• Incomplete or inaccurate address information on your reimbursement form may result in a delay or forfeit of reimbursement.
• Participation in this program is limited to the first 50 reimbursement requests received per holiday/event date. Requests received beyond this limit will be held for possible future reimbursement based on program funding availability.

*Exception: Mystic Lake Casino and Hotel is not an eligible ride destination. Only rides originating from Mystic will be eligible for reimbursement.
