The Police Department will offer a free Internet Safety for Parents presentation Monday, Jan. 25 to provide parents tools for talking to their children about safe Internet use. The class is from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Police Department Training Room, 475 Gorman St.; no registration required.
Crime Prevention Specialist Janna Wood will speak about common apps and websites your children may be using, such as Snapchat, Kik, Omegle, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, Ask.fm, Yik Yak and more. The event will also discuss cyber bullying and sexting, as well as provide tips on how to keep your child safer online by increasing parental controls.
