Parks & Recreation's Big Fun Day!

Event posterIn celebration of National Parks and Recreation Month in July, the Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a new family friendly event, Parks and Recreation's Big Fun Day!

Swing by Huber Park from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30 for free, fun activities for all ages. Get wet with several water-themed events or create fun sidewalk art for a chance to win a cool recreation prize pack. Activities include Splash Pad, slip-n-slide, water relays and games, food carts, face paint/temporary tattoos, craft table, bounce house and more.

Afterward, grab your popcorn and lawn chairs and settle in for a Movie in the Park, as part of the Huber Park Performance & Event Series.

Submission Guidelines

Eligible organizations may request that the city promote events using city communication tools. Events must be open to the public and community oriented. Posting of event information is based on available space and available staff resources to make the posting. A request to display an event does not guarantee that it will be posted. 

Eligible organizations are government organizations; Shakopee-based, not-for-profit or nonprofit entities; and city-recognized service organizations and athletic associations affiliated with the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department. 

City staff will not be responsible for the design of promotional materials. Ongoing or recurring events (i.e. monthly or weekly events) will not be posted. The city reserves the right to edit message information for space, clarity or content. If the city requires edits, city staff will inform the individual making the request.
