Senior Lounge Grand Opening

A grand opening of the new Senior Lounge at the Community Center is planned for Friday, Oct. 28. Stop by from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for food and entertainment. Note, the event has been rescheduled from Oct. 7.
Located adjacent to the new Community Room, the Senior Lounge includes a kitchenette, tables, couches and comfy chairs. It will also have televisions, games, cards and a collection of books. The Senior Lounge will be open to seniors during regular Community Center hours.
Submission Guidelines
Eligible organizations may request that the city promote events using city communication tools. Events must be open to the public and community oriented. Posting of event information is based on available space and available staff resources to make the posting. A request to display an event does not guarantee that it will be posted.
Eligible organizations are government organizations; Shakopee-based, not-for-profit or nonprofit entities; and city-recognized service organizations and athletic associations affiliated with the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department.
City staff will not be responsible for the design of promotional materials. Ongoing or recurring events (i.e. monthly or weekly events) will not be posted. The city reserves the right to edit message information for space, clarity or content. If the city requires edits, city staff will inform the individual making the request.
