The Open Book Meeting for the City of Shakopee will be Wednesday, May 3 from 2-7 p.m. at the Scott County Government Center Taxation Office, 200 Fourth Ave. W. The purpose of this meeting is to give each taxpayer the opportunity to informally review or challenge assessed values or classifications for the Jan. 2, 2017, assessment.

If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, first please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. The appropriate number to call is listed on your Notice of Valuation and Classification that was mailed to you in March 2017.  If you disagree with the valuation or classification after discussing with your assessor, you may appear before the county special board of appeal and equalization. You must schedule an appearance prior to the meeting.
