Lunch & Learn with the Police: Investigations

Free class for Older Active Adults

  • Intro Text 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Community Center; RSVP required

Older active adults are invited to free Lunch and Learns the third Tuesday of the month through September. Lunch and discussion will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays, May 16, June 20, July 18, Aug. 15 and Sept. 19 in the Community Room at the Shakopee Community Center.

Learn about what a Shakopee detective does on a daily basis and how he or she investigates crimes

. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Shakopee Police Department and law enforcement. Please register two days prior to the event with Carla at 952-233-9516.

Lunch is provided by Farmers Insurance/Tim Whitcomb of Shakopee. These events are geared toward older active adults.

Submission Guidelines

Eligible organizations may request that the city promote events using city communication tools. Events must be open to the public and community oriented. Posting of event information is based on available space and available staff resources to make the posting. A request to display an event does not guarantee that it will be posted. 

Eligible organizations are government organizations; Shakopee-based, not-for-profit or nonprofit entities; and city-recognized service organizations and athletic associations affiliated with the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department. 

City staff will not be responsible for the design of promotional materials. Ongoing or recurring events (i.e. monthly or weekly events) will not be posted. The city reserves the right to edit message information for space, clarity or content. If the city requires edits, city staff will inform the individual making the request.
