The Shakopee Police Department is hosting its 14th annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics on Wednesday, June 21. The public is invited to participate in the run and help raise funds for Special Olympics.
This the 5K starts at 9 a.m. at the Police Department, 475 Gorman St., when Special Olympics athletes kick off the run. Runners, bicyclists and rollerbladers welcome. A vehicle will be available for anyone who needs a break.
The registration fee is $20 and includes a T-shirt. Register online at shakopee.kintera.org. All proceeds go directly to the Special Olympics.
The Special Olympics will also be donating used bicycles as door prizes. Anyone who participates will be eligible for the bicycles.
