The Shakopee Police Department and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) are teaming up to provide an informational session for parents at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2 at the Police Department.

Art Morrow, executive director of MADD, will give a 30-45 minute presentation on the Power of Parenting, with time for questions at the end. This presentation is directed at parents.

This presentation will empower parents of middle school and high school students to have ongoing, intentional conversations about the dangers and consequences of underage drinking. Research shows that young people who drink are a danger to themselves, their friends, and others. Power of Parents was developed by MADD and provides helpful information to parents and guardians based on 20 years of research about youth and alcohol.
