Shakopee Parks and Recreation, Shakopee Community Education and the city's police and fire departments are teaming up to encourage youth safety. Open to ages 7-11, Safety Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 31 at the Community Center.
During this one-day camp, participants will get to experience and learn about a variety of safety issues, including 911, first aid, Internet safety, backpack safety and much more. A short graduation ceremony for family and friends will close out the camp at the end of the day.
Register by July 17 using program code SAFE 731 at www.ShakopeeMN.gov/registration. The $39 fee includes more than 10 presentations and demonstrations, class T-shirt, lunch and graduation certificate.
