Scott County invites contractors, property managers, schools and others who maintain parking lots and sidewalks to attend a free training on best management practice for winter snow and ice maintenance [PDF]. The workshop will focus on parking lots and sidewalks and provide tips on how to save money, time and the environment.

The workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24 at the McColl Pond Environmental Learning Center in Savage. Preregistration is required by Sept. 20 to mbokman@co.scott.mn.us or 952-496-8887.

An optional test is offered at the end of the workshop to earn Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) Level 1 Certification in Snow & Ice Control Best Practices. Certified individuals are listed on the MPCA website.
