Crime Free Multi Housing Phase I

  • Date: 04/18/2019 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
  • Location: Police Department
    475 Gorman Street
    Shakopee, Minnesota 55379
  • Introduction: Learn how to actively manage your rental property and minimize crime. This training is required for rental properties.

The Savage Police Department and the Shakopee Police Department will be hosting a Crime Free Multi-Housing training Thursday, April 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Shakopee Police Department.

The Crime Free Multi-Housing (CFMH) program is designed to reduce crime, drugs and illegal or nuisance activity in rental communities. Rental property owners and managers are invited to the eight-hour training to better understand how to keep illegal activity out of their rental properties. Participants who have attended this training gave positive reviews, whether they had been a manager for years or they were new to property management. Landlords tell us that the course provided them with new screening tips, updated legal information and assistance in successfully dealing with tenants involved in illegal activity. Many managers indicate that they will make changes in the way they manage their property.

Please note that the City of Shakopee does require rental property owners or managers to attend Crime Free Multi-Housing training within one year after registration of the residential rental property.

To register, fill out the registration form [PDF] and mail with payment to Shakopee Police Department, Attn: Crime Prevention Unit, 475 Gorman St., Shakopee, MN 55379.
