Big Fun Day - Canceled

Big Fun Day PosterUPDATE: Tonight's Big Fun Day outdoor activities have been canceled due to the incoming weather. Movie in the Park will still be shown at the Community Center at 8:30 p.m. 

Kick off summer with a lot of fun water activities at the annual Big Fun Day celebration at Huber Park from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 15. This free event includes a splash pad, climbing wall, food carts, balloon art and bounce houses.

Be sure to bring your lawn chair and settle in for a family friendly movie at the amphitheater to close out the night.

Prior to Big Fun Day activities, come down to Huber Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Taste of Shakopee, sponsored by the Shakopee Jaycees, and take in some great local food, entertainment and fun activities.

Submission Guidelines

Eligible organizations may request that the city promote events using city communication tools. Events must be open to the public and community oriented. Posting of event information is based on available space and available staff resources to make the posting. A request to display an event does not guarantee that it will be posted. 

Eligible organizations are government organizations; Shakopee-based, not-for-profit or nonprofit entities; and city-recognized service organizations and athletic associations affiliated with the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department. 

City staff will not be responsible for the design of promotional materials. Ongoing or recurring events (i.e. monthly or weekly events) will not be posted. The city reserves the right to edit message information for space, clarity or content. If the city requires edits, city staff will inform the individual making the request.
