2014 Scott County Senior Expo

  • Intro Text 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Shakopee High School

Stan TekielaJoin older active adults from around the area at the annual Scott County Senior Expo from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 at Shakopee High School, 100 17th Ave. W.

Keynote speakers are author, naturalist and wildlife photographer Stan Tekiela and local humorist Joan Kennedy. Kennedy will present on “Rules of the Game of Life: As We Grow Older.”

Cost for the event is $12, which includes continental breakfast, lunch, vendor booths and a chance to win prizes.

The event is hosted by a collaborative of organizations and providers dedicated to serving and celebrating seniors in Scott County.

Submission Guidelines

Eligible organizations may request that the city promote events using city communication tools. Events must be open to the public and community oriented. Posting of event information is based on available space and available staff resources to make the posting. A request to display an event does not guarantee that it will be posted. 

Eligible organizations are government organizations; Shakopee-based, not-for-profit or nonprofit entities; and city-recognized service organizations and athletic associations affiliated with the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department. 

City staff will not be responsible for the design of promotional materials. Ongoing or recurring events (i.e. monthly or weekly events) will not be posted. The city reserves the right to edit message information for space, clarity or content. If the city requires edits, city staff will inform the individual making the request.
