Patriotic Journeys

This Patriotic Journeys flag presentation has on display 11 rare and unique flags, representing 242 years of American flag history, including the Revolutionary War, Civil War and modern-day flags. We will learn about the intriguing, often little-known details about the evolution of the American flag, design, canton and field element descriptions; background stories; origin of our national anthem; summary of rare locations where the flag has been flown; and a tribute to veterans..
The presentation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4 at the Community Center. Lunch provided by Pizza Ranch.
Register at www.ShakopeeMN.gov/registration using program code SE 1104 by Oct. 28. Fee is $5.
Submission Guidelines
Eligible organizations may request that the city promote events using city communication tools. Events must be open to the public and community oriented. Posting of event information is based on available space and available staff resources to make the posting. A request to display an event does not guarantee that it will be posted.
Eligible organizations are government organizations; Shakopee-based, not-for-profit or nonprofit entities; and city-recognized service organizations and athletic associations affiliated with the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department.
City staff will not be responsible for the design of promotional materials. Ongoing or recurring events (i.e. monthly or weekly events) will not be posted. The city reserves the right to edit message information for space, clarity or content. If the city requires edits, city staff will inform the individual making the request.
