Band Together Blood Drive

Band Together aims to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation through a friendly life-saving competition between teams of first responders. The department with the highest participation and the most life-saving units wins! Support your local heroes and help save lives by scheduling today. All blood types are needed—especially O negative (O-) and O positive (O+).

Double your donation, double the lives saved! Double red cell donations are available at your blood drive. You’re the right type if you are O+, O-, A-, or B-.

Submission Guidelines

Eligible organizations may request that the city promote events using city communication tools. Events must be open to the public and community oriented. Posting of event information is based on available space and available staff resources to make the posting. A request to display an event does not guarantee that it will be posted. 

Eligible organizations are government organizations; Shakopee-based, not-for-profit or nonprofit entities; and city-recognized service organizations and athletic associations affiliated with the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department. 

City staff will not be responsible for the design of promotional materials. Ongoing or recurring events (i.e. monthly or weekly events) will not be posted. The city reserves the right to edit message information for space, clarity or content. If the city requires edits, city staff will inform the individual making the request.
