Join Shakopee Parks and Recreation for a movie in the park at Huber Park. We'll play The Rookie at dusk. Bring your lawn chair, blankets and favorite movie snacks for this free film.

The Rookie is based on the true story of Major League Baseball pitcher Jimmy Morris, who began his major league career at age 35.

This event is subject to cancellation due to weather or public health crisis.

Submission Guidelines

Eligible organizations may request that the city promote events using city communication tools. Events must be open to the public and community oriented. Posting of event information is based on available space and available staff resources to make the posting. A request to display an event does not guarantee that it will be posted.

Eligible organizations are government organizations; Shakopee-based, not-for-profit or nonprofit entities; and city-recognized service organizations and athletic associations affiliated with the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department.

City staff will not be responsible for the design of promotional materials. Ongoing or recurring events (i.e. monthly or weekly events) will not be posted. The city reserves the right to edit message information for space, clarity or content. If the city requires edits, city staff will inform the individual making the request.
