Water Safety Day

Have your children never taken swim lessons? Or could use some pointers on how to be safe around the water?

Sign them up for our FREE water safety lesson on Saturday, Dec. 11 and they will work with Red Cross trained water safety instructors to be safe and comfortable around the water and learn some swimming basics.

Adults and parents are welcome to sign up, as well. Participants will be divided into three groups: ages 3-5, kids 6 and older, and adults.

Sessions will be from 9-9:45 a.m. and 10-10:45 a.m. Register FREE at www.ShakopeeMN.gov/registration.

Submission Guidelines

Eligible organizations may request that the city promote events using city communication tools. Events must be open to the public and community oriented. Posting of event information is based on available space and available staff resources to make the posting. A request to display an event does not guarantee that it will be posted. 

Eligible organizations are government organizations; Shakopee-based, not-for-profit or nonprofit entities; and city-recognized service organizations and athletic associations affiliated with the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department. 

City staff will not be responsible for the design of promotional materials. Ongoing or recurring events (i.e. monthly or weekly events) will not be posted. The city reserves the right to edit message information for space, clarity or content. If the city requires edits, city staff will inform the individual making the request.
