In Person: NAMI Family Support Group-Parents and Caregivers of Children Under 21

NAMI Family Support Groups- Parents & Caregivers of Children Under 21 are free, peer-led support groups for any adult with a child under 21 who is living with a mental illness. Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar experiences, build understanding and awareness, and connect with others. There is no need to register for in-person meetings.

Submission Guidelines

Eligible organizations may request that the city promote events using city communication tools. Events must be open to the public and community oriented. Posting of event information is based on available space and available staff resources to make the posting. A request to display an event does not guarantee that it will be posted. 

Eligible organizations are government organizations; Shakopee-based, not-for-profit or nonprofit entities; and city-recognized service organizations and athletic associations affiliated with the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department. 

City staff will not be responsible for the design of promotional materials. Ongoing or recurring events (i.e. monthly or weekly events) will not be posted. The city reserves the right to edit message information for space, clarity or content. If the city requires edits, city staff will inform the individual making the request.
