In honor of National Fire Prevention Month, join the Fire Department at its annual Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at Fire Station 1, 2700 Vierling Drive E.

This free event includes a jumpy house, fire extinguisher training, water hose spraying, learn about the newest in fire detection technology from a Lowe’s Home Improvement expert and free hot dogs, popcorn, cookies and refreshments. (Fire truck rides will not be offered this year.) Prize drawings throughout the day.
