The Vierling Greenway is a project to improve the trail which runs along the Upper Valley Drainage Way. The trail,  formerly known as the Drainage Way Trail, will be redesigned for comfort, safety at at-grade road crossings and naturalizing vegetation along the drainage way.

Trail improvements include:

  • New signage and wayfinding for directions and information
  • Naturalized plantings to support wildlife
  • Improved signs and road striping at crossings
  • Benches and areas for respite

Alignment to Community Priorities and Goals

The redesign of this trail meets the city’s goal of improving trails and connections so that they are attractive routes that safely connect parks and key city destinations. Natural areas will also be restored in an effort to connect residents to the natural world.
