The Shakopee Edible Landscape is a garden in Scenic Heights Park.

It has edible plants, shrubs and trees that are maintained by a group of volunteers for anyone in the community to harvest and eat.

This project was made possible through a grant from Scott County Public Health and a water line donated by Shakopee Public Utilities.

Garden Layout

The perennial plants, shrubs and trees have been planted and have been establishing.

Annual vegetables will be planted in 2023 dependent upon volunteer availability.

See garden layout and details here [PDF].

Garden Etiquette

Leave the garden better than you found it.

  • Take some, leave most – only harvest what you need
  • Only eat what you can identify
  • Eat plants at your own risk
  • Harvest only when the plants are ready

Volunteering

If you would like to volunteer with watering, weeding, harvesting, and planting the edible landscape, please contact the city's Community Engagement Coordinator at 952-233-9516 or by emailing parks@ShakopeeMN.gov.
